Design Templates

While the content of your survey is very important, options in the Visual Settings section provide many ways to make your survey look great, too. SoGoSurvey allows you full control over the colors and fonts in your survey. Choose from a variety of beautiful system templates or customize color and font to match your brand.

A typical SoGoSurvey template design consists of:

  • Color of all survey elements
  • Background color and transparency for questions, answers, and survey page
  • Font family and font size
  • Survey background

SoGoSurvey Templates

To apply an existing SoGoSurvey template design, follow the steps listed below:

  1. Create a new survey or select a survey to edit.
  2. From the Design menu bar, click on Visual Settings.
  3. On the right side of your screen, you will see a sample survey that will update to reflect any choices you make. Icons on the far right allow you to preview the sample survey from desktop, tablet, and mobile views.
  4. From the menu on the left, click on Themes, then make a selection from the available templates.
  5. Return back to the main menu and click on Colors to choose your color scheme. To customize colors, click on the edit icon to the right of the color bar. Selections for Primary, Secondary, and Background will be displayed. Click to edit any of these options. You may also expand your options by selecting View Advanced Colors at the bottom of the panel.
    • Customizing colors allows users to select from a color palette or specify a hexadecimal code.
    • Customizing background allows two options. Under Colors, you may select from a color palette, specify a hexadecimal code, set opacity. Under Images, you may choose to select from system-provided images or upload your own, display by tiles or full size, show a gradient, and control brightness.
  6. Return to the main menu and click on Text to customize fonts. You may customize the overall font, size, and features, or click View Advanced Text to expand your options.
  7. Finally, from the main menu, you may click on More to customize survey for web and mobile separately. By default, themes are linked, but you may disable this setting by toggling off ‘Auto Theme All Devices’.
  8. Once all changes have been made, click Apply at the bottom of the screen to save your choices. To see updates on your own survey, click on Preview Survey button on the top right corner.
  9. You can also reset the text, color, or all changes by clicking the Reset option at the bottom of the screen.

Custom Templates

You may also customize default templates and save them for future use. This is perfect when you will be sending out multiple surveys from your organization and you want to build brand recognition.

Here’s how:

  1. Create a new survey or select a survey to edit.
  2. From the Design menu bar, click Visual Settings.
  3. Click Themes, then start with any of the system templates.
  4. Customize the colors and fonts as needed.
  5. When everything is just right, select ‘Save this personalized theme’ at the bottom of the left panel.
  6. Choose a name for your template and Save.
  7. To use this template again on a different survey, you’ll simply need to return to Visual Settings, click on Themes, select Saved Templates, make your choice from the dropdown, then click Apply.
