The Question Bank allows you to deposit questions from existing surveys in groups. These questions can then be used elsewhere in the same survey or in your future surveys, saving you plenty of time in your survey design.

A Category is where similarly themed questions are collected together. You can add, delete, and rename groups in the Question Bank.

Groups are displayed in the panel on the left-hand side of the screen.

Adding a category to the Question Bank

  1. Create a survey or edit an existing survey.
  2. Under Design, on the left-hand side of the screen, navigate to the Question Bank and click on User Defined Categories.
  3. Click on Add Category.
  4. Enter the name of the category and save.

Renaming categories in the Question Bank

  1. Hover over an existing user defined category.
  2. Click on the Edit pencil icon.
  3. Enter the new name and save.

Deleting a category name in the Question Bank

  1. Hover over an existing user defined category.
  2. Click on the delete icon.

Question Bank is displayed only when the survey is in Edit mode. By default, Question Bank has a blank category named General.

Depositing Questions to Categories

You can either deposit questions to an existing category or create a new one.

Deposit question to an existing group

  1. Create a survey or edit an existing survey.
  2. Create or choose a question. Hover over the question text and click on More.
  3. Click on Deposit to Question Bank.
  4. Click on Deposit to an Existing Group, identify the chosen group from the dropdown menu, and continue.

Deposit question to a new group

  1. Create a survey or edit an existing survey.
  2. Create or choose a question. Hover over the question text and click on More.
  3. Click on ‘Deposit to a New Group’.
  4. Enter the group name and continue.

You can add a maximum of 50 groups to Question Bank, and each group can include up to 100 questions.

Performing Actions on Questions in Groups

Deleting a question from a group

  1. Navigate to the Question Bank in the left panel, then select the group.
  2. Hover on the question and click on menu on the right hand corner.
  3. Select Delete.
  4. When prompted to confirm, click ‘Ok’.

Moving questions between groups

  1. Navigate to the Question Bank in the left panel, then select the group.
  2. Hover on the question and click on menu on the right hand corner
  3. Click on Move, then select the group where you want to move the question

Groups cannot be deleted while containing questions.

Adding questions to the Survey from Question Bank

Adding questions from the Question Bank saves you time and improves your consistency. You may re-use the questions in your Bank as many times as you want.

  1. Navigate to the Question Bank in the left panel, then select the appropriate group.
  2. Simply select the desired questions from Question Bank and drop them on the question canvas toward the right.
