Pivot Table: Correlate Responses to Multiple Questions

The Pivot Table Report is used to correlate responses to multiple questions based on how participants responded to a single question.

Generate Pivot Table Report

Follow these steps to create a Pivot Table Report:

  1. Under the Report tab, select a survey. From the Pivot Tables dropdown, choose Pivot Table.
  2. On the variables step, select a question for the horizontal variable from the dropdown menu and single/multiple vertical variables from the questions listed.
  3. Click Continue to proceed.
  4. On the ‘Reorder Questions’ step, can change the order of questions as desired. Drag and drop to rearrange the sequence, if you prefer.
  5. Select properties that you want to display in your report:
    1. Display Count: Displays the response count in your report
    2. Display Percentage: Lets you customize the number of decimals to be displayed for response percentage
    3. Exclude All ‘Did not Answer’ is used to exclude the count of unanswered question from the number of total respondents for a question. Blank responses will not be displayed in the report.
    4. Include incomplete responses in the report is used to include partial responses that are yet to be submitted. Here, you can choose:
    1. All, to add all partially completed responses to the report
    2. Responses answered up to a specific question number
  6. Click Continue to proceed.
  7. Next, you may choose to apply a filter to your report based on desired conditions by selecting a filter from the dropdown list or by clicking on Create New to build a new filter.
  8. Click on Generate Now to end the customization and generate the report.

Review/Modify Pivot Table Report

To modify a generated report, clicking on ‘Modify this Report’ will redirect you to the first step of the report wizard.

Survey Report Details

Survey Metrics: Survey Metrics displays Date, Invitation, and Responses Metrics, which provide details about the responses included in the generated report. You may click on the Edit icon beside the Survey Metrics option to show or hide particular Date, Invitation, and Response Metrics.

Properties and Filters: All report properties and response languages present in the generated report are visible here. You can edit, remove, or add the field which you want in the report by clicking on the Edit icon. If you are generating a report for a multilingual survey, you may review responses submitted for particular language by selecting it from the language dropdown menu.

Commentary: Comments can be added in the report by clicking the ‘Add Commentary’ link.

Modify Graph Appearance: The graph can be updated to reflect responses on the basis of percentage of the response count of each question or all selected questions.
